I know I haven't posted anything new for a while and that's mostly because I have been pretty busy with other work and the fact that I like to keep most of my artwork on just my website. Since I haven't posted anything here for a while I thought I'd post this one.

Update: some people had recently mentioned how they thought the woman's pose was over exaggerated a bit so I adjusted the pose a little. Thanks for all your input everyone!

To those who may be offended by this work because you don't find it to be a perfectly accurate and historical depiction of Native Americans - I apologize if it offends you but it was not my intention to offend or even create a accurate historical depiction of any specific tribe or culture in the first place. This is a fantasy work! I am not a realist but a fantasy artist and I only borrowed some elements and inspiration from Native American culture to create this work because I find it so beautiful. I don't appreciate being called ignorant or racist just because I chose to paint my characters the way I did. I intentionally did not choose to depict any specific tribe because of the fact that this is a fantasy work - And for those wondering, yes I did look at a few references.

I chose to make these characters less clothed because in my story they live in a very hot climate and because I wanted to add sex appeal to this image. I was aiming to create a very warm and sensual/sexy picture of a beautiful couple in love who happen to look similar to Native Americans, Is that really so racist and wrong? I love and admire Native American culture and I don't see how my picture creates a negative stereotype. I will not take down this picture nor will I modify it because I am an artist and it is every artists artistic right to create.

I can't please everyone with my artwork, it is an impossible task and I will never try to either - Just about every piece of art that exists today will offend someone somewhere. I paint for myself and for the others who like my work. Every artist has the freedom to paint from their heart as you have the freedom to your own opinion. If you don't like my work you don't have to look at it and it's as simple as that.

Also if you ask me there isn't enough darker skin or culture in fantasy art - one of the reasons I was inspired to paint this image along with my other paintings "Akanksha" and "Exotic Butterfly"

Enough with all of the hate and intolerance, the world needs a lot more love and there are much bigger problems in the world to worry about than perfectly accurate/inaccurate portrayals of cultures in fantasy art.
